Who We Are

From a Small Kitchen
to a Fairlawn Landmark

It started with a single wood-fired oven, a fistful of recipes passed down through generations, and an unwavering belief that great pizza is more than food — it's a feeling. Dewey's Pizza opened its doors on West Market Street in 2003, founded by Dewey Marchetti, a third-generation Italian-American who learned to toss dough before he learned to ride a bike.

What began as a 12-table neighborhood joint quickly became the go-to destination for families, date nights, and post-game celebrations alike. Today, Dewey's Pizza is still family-owned, still hand-tossing every crust, and still sourcing the freshest local produce — because we believe you deserve nothing less.

2003

The First Slice

Dewey Marchetti opens a 12-table pizzeria on West Market Street with one brick oven, three employees, and a dream built on his grandmother's dough recipe.

2006

First Expansion

Growing demand pushes us to double our dining room and introduce delivery service to Fairlawn and the surrounding Summit County area.

2009

Award-Winning Pizza

Dewey's Signature Margherita wins "Best Pizza in Summit County" at the Ohio Food & Hospitality Awards — an honor we'd go on to hold for five consecutive years.

2012

Farm Partnerships

We formalize sourcing agreements with three local Ohio farms, committing to 80% locally grown produce on every seasonal menu we release.

2016

Catering & Events Launch

Responding to community requests, we launch full-service catering for weddings, corporate events, and private parties throughout Northeast Ohio.

2020

Rising Through Adversity

Despite a challenging global climate, we pivot to contactless pickup and online ordering, keeping our team employed and our neighbors fed when they needed us most.

2023

20th Anniversary & Franchise Launch

We celebrate two decades with a complete restaurant refresh and launch our franchise program, inviting passionate entrepreneurs to bring Dewey's magic to new communities.
